Asticou and Jordan Pond Path, crosses Acadia National Park, Hancock County, ME
The Asticou and Jordan Pond Path (ANP #49) is an easy woodland trail running between Northeast Harbor and the Jordan Pond House. The current route receives moderate use. The path starts on private land near the Asticou Inn along the Asticou Hill Trail Road. The trail proceeds north approximately 0.3 mi. to The Map House, where the trail changes to an easterly direction and enters Acadia National Park in 0.2 miles. Along the way, the Asticou and Jordan Pond Path intersects five trails and crosses carriage roads twice before its easterly terminus at the Spring Trail near the carriage road at Jordan Stream, a total of 2.4 miles. Features along the trail include original historical stream crossings, steps and step-stones, stone patio tread wetland crossings, low stone walls, short wooden bridges, and stone culverts. The trail serves as a major connecting route to other Acadia National Park trails that loop to Penobscot and Sargent Mountain trails, and to the Land and Garden Preserve trail system to the south.
