Town of Concord, MA. Located 14 mi S of Lowell; Middlesex County (US-T121).
Historical Context
Settled about 1635, incorporated as a town the same year. Probably so named because of the spirit of cooperation among the early settlers and the peaceable manner in which the town was purchased from the Indians. Before incorporation it was called a plantation at Musketequid (MA-T1/p14).
