From collection College of the Atlantic College of the Atlantic Timeline List (Timeline #1)
In the spring of 1973, the ‘Humans and the Great Whales’ initiative changes its name; Allied Whale is born. The creation of Allied Whale was a step forward for COA in terms of national recognition, scientific involvement and philanthropy efforts. It is still an important part of the college to this day. Currently, Allied Whale hosts a range of marine mammal research, as well as housing the largest collection of information on photo-identified whales in the world.
