in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, author of Building the
Maine Guide Canoe will construct a canvas
over wood canoe at the museum.
Solar Building Design
Built in 1981, the museum building reflects
traditional Maine architecture, but implements
modern solar energy technology.
Library
An excellent collection of reading and audio-visual
materials about bird carving and natural history.
Museum Shop
Carving tools, books and patterns, bird carv-
ings, field guides and a wide range of gifts to
please art and nature lovers.

Please note that the museum is always closed
on Mondays and holidays, except for special
events or group tours. Groups are welcome
for guided tours and special programs
throughout the year, by appointment.
Accommodations
A wheelchair ramp provides easy access to
the museum for the handicapped. Rest rooms
are barrier free and all public areas are on the
ground floor. There is a wheelchair available
at the front desk for visitor use.
