Located on the east side of Bartlett Island, west of Mount Desert Island. A proposal to change the name Bartlett Narrows to Bartletts Narrows was submitted in January 2003; in August 2004, the proposal was rejected by the U.S. Board on Geographic Names (USBGN) decision was made in agreement with the findings of local government and the Maine Board on Geographic Names.
